FAQ Schema Generator

Enter the question-answer pairs from your page. Copy JSON-LD in Google's FAQPage structure.

Use the tool

What does it do?

This tool turns the question-answer pairs on your page into schema.org FAQPage markup. You can add the output to the page's head or body. The code creates a Question object for each question and an Answer object for each answer. The goal is to describe visible FAQ content to search engines in a machine-readable way. Schema does not replace the visible text; it describes it. Publish the questions and answers on the page first, then add the code.

How do you use it?

Write one question and its visible answer in each box. Use the add-question button for more pairs; empty pairs are left out of the output. After generating, copy the JSON. Validate it with Google's Rich Results Test or the Schema Markup Validator before publishing. Use one FAQPage block per page. Keep answers short and answer the question in the first sentence.

What are its limits?

The tool only produces JSON-LD text. It does not guarantee correct placement, validity or a rich result. Google may show FAQ rich results only for certain sites and conditions; visibility has been limited since 2023. If the questions are not visible on the page, schema alone will not help. Your input stays in the browser and is not sent to a server. Last checked: 3 November 2026.

A real example

I entered two questions from this site's GEO guide. The output below is a shortened version of the structure the tool produces.

Example input

Question 1
What does GEO stand for?
Answer 1
GEO is short for Generative Engine Optimization. It covers work to improve brand and content visibility in AI answers.

Example output

  • "@type": "FAQPage"
  • "mainEntity": [{ "@type": "Question", "name": "What does GEO stand for?", "acceptedAnswer": { "@type": "Answer", "text": "GEO is short for Generative Engine Optimization…" } }]
  • The output is shown as copyable JSON.

The questions and answers come from the live GEO guide. The JSON-LD reflects the tool's output on 3 November 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Does FAQ schema guarantee a rich result?

No. Schema helps machines understand the content; Google decides whether to display it. In 2023 Google significantly limited FAQ rich-result visibility. Use schema to describe page structure, not only to chase a rich result.

Can I use more than one FAQPage on a page?

One FAQPage block is cleaner. Multiple blocks can make it unclear which page the questions belong to. Put all questions in a single mainEntity list.

Do the questions have to be visible on the page?

Yes. The content in schema should match what users see. Question-answer pairs that exist only in code and are not visible on the page can violate structured-data guidelines and risk manual action.

How long should an answer be?

There is no fixed limit. The first sentence should answer the question directly; detail can follow. Unnecessary introductory sentences weaken both readability and machine comprehension.

Who made this page?

Who
Prepared by Merve Algan, SEO & GEO Manager. Published on 3 November 2026.
How
Method: the output structure was matched to the Question and Answer objects produced by the FaqSchemaBuilder component in the same repository. The example comes from the FAQ section of the live GEO guide.
Why
Purpose: to mark up FAQ content without hand-writing JSON, consistently with the visible content. The tool does not promise a rich result; it provides a verifiable starting point.
